We stayed at Harbour Plaza Resort Hotel, Ginza HK. This place was literally far, seemingly the provincial side. It was the second to the last MTR station and would have to get an LRT to reach the hotel. But you know, it was never a problem. Distance was never an issue. Thanks to HK’s amazing MTR. We never felt any traffic; there were never any hassles to reach each destination no matter how far it was. HK has really created a very good transportation system. Catch though; you would be required to walk somehow endlessly. If you choose to get a cab, well good luck on how much you would have to pay. The stations were clean, air-conditioned, trash free and commuters were disciplined. Example if you are in a hurry you stay in the left side of the escalator so you can run & walk, but if you prefer to just be on a steady pace, you stay at the right side of the escalator.
The usual itineraries: Avenue of Stars, The Outlet Mall, Disneyland and Night Market.
I have actually visited those places before, but we have to drop by again because it’s my youngest sister 1st time in HK and of course one’s visit here would not be complete without checking out these places. This time, we were able to maximize our Disneyland trip because we went here early; it’s still a joy to be here. We are not too old for Disney.
After Disney, we went to The Outlet Mall, and we were able to get some good buys. I bought Esprit shirts for “pasalubong” costs range from $49-79 HKD only, and I bought an Adidas Bag for myself for $180HKD. And because it was also our birthday, we treated ourselves with sumptuous dinner at The Spaghetti House. It was costly actually, but we were there and we just enjoyed it.
Going back to our hotel, before you transferred from MTR to the LRT there was this store “SUSHI TAKE OUT” where you can pick any of your sushi choice and take it out, it was so affordable that we hoarded for this. Super like.
There was also a shopping mall near our hotel. So we made sure we get in here before our flight back to Manila. There were again a lot of inviting shops and we bought some stuff from the supermarket too. Well Duty Prices we know can be so expensive.
I entered “SASA” it’s like a cosmetic shop which sells all kinds of make ups, perfumes and other stuff, beauty store it is actually. They sell testers, perfume freebies for a lesser price. I've got some lip glosses for $16 HKD and my friend got an Elizabeth Arden green tea perfume for a very good deal too.
HK is such a progressive country I can say. Most people getting in to the MTR had their phones and S3’s with them without fear that at any point it will be snatched from them, that for one is amazing right. I didn't see much Filipinos here; you get to recognize a few though. HK is pricey, but it still remains to be one of the favorite tourists’ destinations of most Filipinos, why because they really captured most of our interests, Disneyland for kids and shopping for most adults. Hehehe.
